Five Things 8/52

Another weekend gone! Hope you all had a good one! Mine was fairly quiet but good news is I feel so much better and am back to work today! Here are my Five Things:

Saturday morning coffee and my TV guide for the weekend....its the little things!

Getting our Fleetwood Mac tickets in the post yippeee!!! The concert is not till September but I can't wait!

Trying to eat healthy and after all the medicine I have been on lately my body needs a little boast. Snack of celery, hummus and cranberry juice.

Saturday night I tried out my sleep-in rollers for the second time. Paul was in work and when he came home he laughed his arse off and said I looked like Mrs Brown! These rollers are fab they are okay to sleep in and on Sunday morning I had lovely big hair pity I wasn't going any where to show it off!

Sunday lunch of roast chicken and roast veg it was the first meal since I have been sick that I really enjoyed and ate every bit!!

So there my five things from this weekend it was a pretty boring one to be honest but I needed it to get better! What are you five things?

My Favourite Duvet Day Movies

How my days have being looking lately! I am still very poorly and under doctors orders I am off work until next week. I have spent the days taking tablets, drinking water, staying in pj's, sleeping and watching TV! I am actually taking up to seven tablets a day plus also taking four spoons of my new tonic a day! So my days have been spent raking through my DVD collection! I thought I would share with you a few of my favourite sick day DVD's these are the ones I go back to again and again!

Pretty Woman

Everyone knows this one the Cinderella story of a business man who falls in love with a hooker! Totally ridiculous and cheesy but that why we love it!

Grease

Grease is the word! We all know at least one song from Grease and we all secretly wanted to be Sandy! Tale of shy new girl who falls for tough guy and it basically tells us to change everything about yourself to get your guy!

Baby Boom

This is such a chill out day movie! Typical 80's movie about 80's career woman JC who is entrusted with her baby niece and is made to re-prioritize her life. Cue lots of 80's music and montages.

Overboard

Another 80's movie which I go back to again and again when I need cheering up! Real life couple Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell play a rich heiress and a penniless Carpenter who pretends Goldie is his wife while she is suffering from memory loss. Really funny but also really romantic movie.

The Princess Bride

I really love this movie I read the book before I saw the film. Such a witty and funny fairy-tale  It tells the story of spoiled Buttercup who realises too late that she is totally in love with stable boy Wesley  He is captured by a pirate and she is forced to marry a horrible king. Cue lots of adventure and sword fights!

Splash

This is such a cute film its basically The Little Mermaid retold in the 80's I really love it. It tells the story of Allen who was saved by a mermaid as a young boy years later beautiful but a little crazy Madison comes into his life and turns his life upside down!

Little Women

Love this retelling of  Little Women with Winona Ryder, Clare Daines, Christian Bale and Susan Sarandon. It tells the story of the March sisters growing up in post civil war America. Claire Danes is amazing as poor Beth breaks my heart every time I watch in!

Flashdance

An 80's classic I loved this movie growing up then I forgot about it and re watched it the other day. Its a cheesy as hell and hasn't really good a very good storyline but if you want a way to spent a hour or so give it a try. You will be dancing in your seat by the end!

Dirty Dancing

My favourite ever! No body buts Baby in the corner! The best feel good movie ever! From the first  scenes I am hooked I love it! The best summer romance ever! Watching Patrick Swayze in a vest for most of the movie is a good plus too!

What are your favourite duvet day films?

Five Things 7/52

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend. Mine was pretty horrible stuck indoors while suffering from a horrible sore throat and cough! Today I thought I was well enough for work only to faint in work and be brought to the doctors! Turns out I have a chest infection as well as a bladder infection this as well as my PCOS meds which are very hard on my body have made my immune system go really low so I am going to have some more tests done during the week. Starting a new tonic today so hopefully I will be feeling better soon.

Going to try cheer myself up with Five Things that made me smile this weekend:

Paul bringing me breakfast in bed the weekend. Yummy boiled eggs with bread soldiers!

Our youngest niece Molly turned one this weekend! She lives in Sweden so getting photos like this from her Mammy always makes me smile. Happy first birthday Molly x

The sky last night had beautiful colours. I am loving the stretch in the days and the brighter evenings!

Paul made a lovely roast pork Sunday lunch it was yummy could eat it again now!

Bubble bath and book I am reading bliss! Paul ran this bath for me last night he is so good and looked after me all weekend!

What are you five things? Hope you all have a fab week x
