Over The Weekend #47

This weekend was fairly uneventful to be honest

Oisìn was unwell with a chest infection and on antibiotics so not in the best form 

Hubby was working all weekend, so Oisìn and I curled up for the weekend!

Oisìn seems to be on the mend now but hubby and I feel like we are coming down with something!

I topped up on all our daily vitamins and got lots of fresh vegetables and fruit so that we boost out immune systems during the change of the seasons.

Friday Hubby and I shared a early coffee date together

Lately we haven't had much of a chance to be alone so it was lovely to spent

a little time chatting over coffee and cake.

This poorly toddler spent most of the weekend in his pyjamas cuddling me on the sofa

He has an awful chest infection with a very chesty cough which has been making him vomit

at night. He has been happy enough dozing on the sofa with lots of Disney movies and cuddles from Mammy!

There was no wild late nights this weekend for us! I was happy enough to be in bed at 9pm reading this book. Once every few years I read a book that I know will stay with me forever and this is definitely one of those books. While Oisìn was dozing on the sofa this weekend I made peppermint tea and curled up and read. I can't wait to do a full review on this at the end of the month

After a late Sunday Lunch, we watched Wreck It Ralph and Thomas The Tank Engine for the 100th time this weekend!

Later we settled down with a glass of wine or two, to watch Polark and Victoria

Over The Weekend #32

Sometime you have an lovely weekend planned packed full of fun things to do

but life has another idea!

Saturday morning Paul was working all weekend so Oisìn and I went for coffee for me and milk and pancakes for him!

We went to one of his favourite places the library! 

After he picked out his three books I had plans for the park, feed the ducks and playground

but he looked really tired and pale so we came home and I put him down for a nap.

When he woke he seemed okay so we went to my parents for lunch

We had a nice lunch, Oisìn and Nanny done some colouring

but I noticed as the afternoon went on Oisìn wouldn't eat and became very tired

He wouldn't eat any dinner when we got home and his tummy looked bloated

So I decided a bath was the best thing to cheer him up

Look at the face how much I love it!

Bath time did cheer him up but also seeing Daddy home from work

before he went to bed also made him happy

Thinking all was okay I lit I candle for my brother

Who I have been really missing lately doesn't seem like ten years at all since he passed away

I poured a glass of wine and we settled down and watched Outlander

Just as the end credits rolled we heard Oisìn vomitting

Poor mite he didn't cry even when we had to change his pyjamas and bed clothes

We where all in bed by 10.30pm

It was a beautiful day here in Dublin today

but we spent it mostly in doors
Paul was in work again today so besides hanging out washing
Oisìn and I spent today cuddling and watching Disney
Little guy hasn't been himself much wanting to sleep for long naps
and watch Disney cartoons so that what we did!

Now I'm not feeling to good and Oisìn has asked to go to bed which is so not like him!
So I am now getting ready to snuggle up in bed and read
I will be lucky if I get through one day of my book because I feel shattered!

Over The Weekend #27

I only have two pictures for this

weekend and they sum up how it has been for us!

Friday night the bottle of fizz was chilling in the fridge

it's still there now and will be until next week!

Oisìn came down with an awful chest and throat infection

he still has a cough that sounds like a bark

Hubby was working late so I finally got a doctor's appointment

but Oisìn was cranky and over tired by this stage!

He is on antibiotics, steroids and a cough bottle poor mite

He finally fell asleep after 24 hours at 6pm Friday night

Break out the bubbly not!

 This was how I spent my Friday night!

After spending all day pushing the fact that I didn't feel well to one side

to look after my poorly baby boy

When he was finally asleep I couldn't lift my head off the sofa!

Dragged my sick arse to bed with hot lemon, paracetamol and a book!

That's how the past two days have looked

Paul has been great nurse to me and Oisìn not sure what I would do without him!

He never complains and has spent the pass two days making sure Oisìn and I had everything we need

Topping us up with cough bottle, watching cartoons with Oisìn and even fluffing my pillows!

Saturday night Paul bought me ice cream

purely medical of course!

We lay on the sofa and enjoyed one of my favourite shows Outlander

I spent today in bed I now have a horrible cough

can't sleep so have been reading and watching netflix

Oisìn is thankfully feeling much better although not fully back to himself

I am hoping to be in better form tomorrow after some lemsip and cough bottle

An early night for me off to dream of this handsome Scot!

Another Week Another Illness!

I am so sick of being sick!

Tired of germs and bugs, tired of scrubbing and cleaning

Only to have more germs come into our house!

Oisin picked up another bug in daycare on Friday

By Saturday he was vomiting, by Monday it had passed on to Paul

and now I have it!

I am ready for it to be Spring go for long walks in fresh air

and for all the germs and bugs to take a hike!! 

Over The Weekend #16

By Saturday morning I was feeling a little better

after Oisín had a sleep over on Friday night

at his Grandparents so I could rest and sleep in

Saturday morning. It was a lovely treat and

just what I needed to get back on my feet!

 

After collecting Oisín from his grandparents

we went to my favourite place the library!

I got lots of lovely books to keep me going

in February!

We then went for a quick walk in the park

and to get a few bits from the shop

Oisín was really tired at this stage so we

didn't hang around for long

We had a lovely steak dinner and Oisín

enjoyed dipping his chips in the pepper sauce!

 

After Oisín was bathed (he had an early night as he wasn't himself)

I had a hot shower got into my pjs and chilled out

We watched the movie Legend with Tom Hardy so much eye candy!

 

Poor little mister Oisín picked up a little tummy bug

and Sunday was spent looking after our little boy

He was off his food and slept for most of the day

we keep giving him plenty of fluids and he

seems so much better today

 

After Oisín was tucked up in bed

I could relax with a glass of red and

Call The Midwife

Then it was off to bed for an early night

(Or maybe I read one of my library books till 1am!!)

 



Sick Day, Sick Week, Sick Sodding Month!!

As my illness lingers on and on! This month has just been about me being unwell

every day since before Christmas I have been dealing with waking up in some sort of pain

Hopefully next week I will finally get some answers and figure out what happens next

with my twisted bowel.

Until then I am sick with an ear, throat and sinus infection as well as swollen glands!

Aw the joys of it all!! 

I hate seeing my child sick and do everything to try help him, but when it comes to myself

I soldier on until someone puts me to bed to rest! Normally its the hubby but this time

it was my Mother In Law who has kindly took Oisín for a sleep over tonight

so I can rest!

My version of resting is blogging, reading, watching boxsets and vlogs!

I have tried to sleep but my stuffed up sinuses made that impossible, I have tried to close my

eyes to rest but can't stop coughing which then sets of the pain in my bowel!

There are a few things I will do today which will make me feel

some what human again! I will try shove the last of

my Mammy's Irish stew into my sore throat for a late lunch

it always makes me feel a little better! While eating that I will

watch my new favourite Netflix boxset Daredevil. I will then run a hot bath

and use one of my Lush bath melts this one is my favourite at the moment The Comforter

while in the bath I will have a face full of No7-Beautiful Skin Hydration Mask I love this

product my skin is so very dry and grey due to all the medication I am on an this leaves my skin

so soft and looking bright.

After all that I should feel relaxed so I will curl up in bed

with a good book. Hubby will be home from work then and

he can look after the patient with a hot drink and cuddles!

Over The Weekend #10

I would love to say this weekend was a lovely one
and we done lovely things to celebrate the run up to Christmas
but we didn't it seems this weekend in November is the time we
get sick, last year it was the same weekend different illness a winter bug
this year Oisín came down with a horrible cough and cold
the cough is so bad it has been making him vomit poor thing
I am in the middle of my second c9 detox
 but by Saturday I could feel the tingle in my throat and my nose was blocked!
So far Paul hasn't got it and he has been a diamond looking after his two patients!

I haven't broke from the C9 still doing

it and on day six today but finding it

hard as I have no appetite and

just want to sleep!

Spent alot of time in bed reading
festive books to cheer myself up!

Oisín and I wrapped ourselves up in blankets
had jammie days and watched lots of Disney

We have alot on next weekend so are hoping
to all better for then, so lots of snuggles
are happening today!

Over The Weekend #6

It's a long weekend here in Ireland
as today is a Bank Holiday
We had a nice weekend
Oisín is sick with a throat and ear infection
hubby still can't shift his cold and cough
and now I'm finally down with a cough and ear infection
cold season has really took hold here in the Furey household!
That said we did try and do a few things this weekend!

We wrapped up tight and went to the park
and play ground
Oisín normally loves the play ground but he was happy enough just
walking beside us, He didn't seem in the form for swings or slides!
Afterwards we went to Mothercare to buy a new stroller as our old one
broke over the week. We picked a nice red chico stroller which Oisín seems happy with!

We decided to treat Oisín to a Burger King
everyone needs treats when there poorly!

 He totally rocks that burger king crown!
We then went to visit Paul's parents
Oisín loves his Grandparent especially
when Granddad Eddie sings to him!

 Some treats for Mammy and Daddy after Oisín went to bed
Wine, takeout and X Factor!

 Who needs an extra hour in bed when
you can have an extra hour watching Cbeebies!

Done alot of reading over the weekend

Finished off the weekend with a bottle of Cava
trying to make ourselves feel better while watching Downton Abbey

Dear Media & Department Stores ~ It's not Christmas yet!! It's not even Halloween yet let us enjoy the changing of the seasons before we think about Christmas!!

Dear Hubby ~ Get well soon and stop being a man and go to the doctors!

Dear Oisín ~ You bring so much joy into our lives, you are only only little but the happiness you bring us is huge. Get well soon my little man x

Week With A Poorly Toddler

This week has been in one word awful!

It started Sunday afternoon when Oisín woke from his nap

with his temperature hitting almost 50C

Paul was in work so I tried my best not to panic

gave Oisín some medicine and striped his clothes off

to make sure he had no rash on his body

He was back to normal after an hour but that

was the longest hour of my life!

I went to bed after Downton Abbey Sunday night

with a hot chocolate in hand

Didn't sleep very long as Oisín woke at 3am with

another high temperature. I brought him downstairs

gave him some medicine and a cold drink

We watched Toy Story (Oisín's new favoutirte)

and by 5am Oisín was ready to go back to bed

Monday morning I brought Oisín to the doctors

when his temperature hit 50C

Turns out our poor little guy has an

ear infection, swollen glands as well

as cutting his final three eye teeth

Thankfully he is on the mend now

with a course of antibotics for the week

Sleep patterns are getting back to normal

He is eating again

Playing and back in creche 

It has had a knock on effect with my slimming world plan

as I have been eating when I can, sleeping when I can and putting all sorts

of crap in my mouth!

Next week is a new week we will all be fighting fit and back on track!

Five Things 17/52

This weekend was mostly spent

trying to cheer up our blue eyed boy

he is cutting four back molars together

as well as other teeth so

he wasn't feeling very happy and I don't blame him!

 Love this show Penny Dreadful but it

does scary the daylights out of me!

 TGIF wine time!

 Poor little Oisín we brought him swimming to

cheer him up but it didn't work!

 Well deserved glass of fizz!

This one is getting so fast its hard

to get a picture of him!!

Week In Pictures 45/52

This week was manly spent looking after
our little boy, he picked up a horrible cold and cough
last Saturday and still hasn't shifted it yet
Then yesterday he has a nasty fall playing out in the garden
two bruises on his forehead and a cut on his nose
I may have cried a little!

Saturday:

This little one had his first proper fall outside
He was playing and walking with his little friends
when he missed his step and fell on his face
He bruised his forehead and cut his nose
but little mite!

and catch up with some TV from the past week
