Oisìn Almost Three Years Old!

My Darling Boy,

I wasn't going to do another update till your third birthday in December,

but I could let this Summer past without documenting it!

This Summer you said goodbye to all things baby, although you will forever be my baby!

You took things in your stride, became even more independent and become more of a little boy then ever! 

Over the Summer you moved into a toddler bed from a cot and you love your bed. Lately you have been having bad dreams, and little night terrors. Your little imagination has created monsters and dragons in your bedroom! Daddy has created this magic Monster spray (water) for night time to banish those awful creatures! Normally after a cuddle you go straight back to sleep, but sometimes you try push to sleep with us and being honest sometimes we give in!

Your speech has always been good but now you really are a little parrot and we have heard you repeat some bad words that you have overheard!! Your favourite thing to do at the moment is make up fairy tale stories and tell them to me and Daddy! You also love to sing and dance, you know some Bob Marley songs as well as nursery rhymes. One of my favourite things you do is when a song comes on the radio you will say 'I love that song' even though you have never heard it before!

This Summer you also finally gave up your soother (dummy/pacifier) we tried give up this before but it never worked. Until we weaned it down to bedtimes only, then one day I put it away and you never asked for it since! You haven't been well lately with a chest infection you haven't asked for your soother but have sucked your thumb when feeling poorly.

You also dropped your mid day naps! One day you just wouldn't take one for me and that was that! I do miss you going for naps if I'm honest as that's when I got most of my housework done! Yet now my favourite time of the day is when we have quiet time, we watch around 40 minutes of TV and you snuggle beside me! I should be doing housework but this is so much better!

Over the Summer you have also become very attached to me, of course you still adore Daddy. Yet it has got hard for me to do anything with my little shadow following me. Before you had no problem going on sleep overs to Aunts and Grandparents, now its much harder chore for us all! You refused to stay in your Aunts when you realised I wasn't going with you! I am hoping this is just a stage you are going through due to us having spent most of the Summer together, because as much as I love you, we both need our independence.

One of the biggest things you conquered this Summer was potty training, it took you a while but you are getting there. You still have accidents especially when you are playing and forget to go to the toilet! You only used your potty a handful of times then when Nanny bought you a junior toilet seat you took to that straight away. One thing that makes me smile is that you really like your privacy while using the toilet once we have helped you on the seat you ask to turn away or leave the bathroom and then you call us again when you are finished!

Last week you went back to daycare after a Summer of play camp, this time you are in the pre-school room. Some of your friends are there but most of them have moved on to early start school, because you where born in December you don't start till next year. You also have some new childcare assistants so last week you found it a little strange and we had a few tears when Daddy and I left but I know you will settle in fine and have lots of friends.

This Summer was bittersweet as you left behind babyhood and started the journey of growing up

Babies, Babies Every Where!

Recently it seems my facebook newsfeed is full with friends announcing there pregnancy, Instagram is full of scan pictures, youtube is awash with pregnancy announcements, my blogger feed is all pregnancy updates along with some close friends also announcing there pregnancy

I am totally happy and blessed for all these people, family friends, social media friends and strangers

Creating and bringing a new life into the world is an amazing thing. One of the best feelings in the world. The love for your child is like no other and a love I never truly understood until my son came along. 

Now that Oisín is almost two I have longed to get pregnant and have a sibling for him. With my PCOS such a big part of my life I knew we would have to try for a while. We have being trying for almost a year now with no result, the treatment which seemed to have worked the first time around is not working. I have lost weight and have undergone a lifestyle change in eating right, losing weight weekly, do weekly exercise and start yoga classes. Nothing seemed to be working this time around for us, but we did get some good news this week.

We are now starting a new fertility treatment which is a little more intense which fingers crossed might work. I am taking a no stress approach this time around, trying to not let getting pregnant take up all my mind space and time. 

I hate when people ask me when are you having another one (meaning baby) Sometimes its not as easy as having another and sometimes couples can't have another child for one reason or other.

I am not giving up yet but if it never happens for me again at least I have this beautiful face

I might never be a Mammy to a large family but I AM a Mammy and thats all I ever wanted

Happy 1st Birthday Baby Boy Our Little Blip!!

Milestones:

Oisín is 1 year old
He has eight teeth
Is now very fast at bumming along on the floor
Can walk with help from Mammy or Daddy
Speaks alot more words now

How Many Months Old?: 12 Months! Our baby boy is now a little boy!

Weight & Height?: 23.3 pounds in weight and 78cm tall!!

How Is Baby Eating?: Oisín now only has two bottles of milk a day in the morning and before bed at night time. He has weaned off formula more or less himself. He loves his food and feeds himself almost everything.

How Is Baby Sleeping?: After last month of waking alot he is back to his normal routine of sleeping right through the night. He will go to bed at 7pm and wake 7am

Is Baby Crawling or Walking Yet?: He is not crawling but he bums around on the floor, he is  walking while holding on to my hands or along the sofa!

Is Baby Talking Yet?: The same words as last month!

How is Baby's Routine?: It's more or last the same as past months

How is Mammy & Daddy this Month?: We are great really enjoyed our Christmas with our little boy

Worst Moment Of the Month?: None that I can think of!

Best Moment Of the Month?: Waking on the morning of his birthday, and feeling so lucky and blessed 

Bump To Baby - He's Here - 11 Month Update

Milestones:

Oisín now has six teeth! 
He has two bottom teeth & four top teeth!
Oisín started walking while holding my hand this month


How Many Months Old?: 11 Months! Finding it hard to believe that Oisín will be 1 years old next month!

Weight & Height?: Not sure but will do this for next month!

How Is Baby Eating?: He loves his food but because of an awful tummy bug we all got, he has been off his food the past week. When he is well he love to fed himself now and really enjoys finger food that he can pick up and feed himself. A couple of weeks ago we went to an Italian restaurant and he love picking up pasta to feed himself!

How Is Baby Sleeping?: He is going through a phase at the moment he goes to sleep at 7pm and then wakes at 8.30pm and cries only because he wants one of us to come up to him and take him out of the cot!! I'm not sure if this is normal for his age, but it's like he is starting to realize when we are not in the same room as him! We are trying to let him cry it out but I always break and go up to him! 

Is Baby Crawling or Walking Yet?: He is not crawling but he is walking while holding on to my hands or along the sofa!

Is Baby Talking Yet?: The same words as last month!

How is Baby's Routine?: It's more or last the same as past months

How is Mammy & Daddy this Month?: Getting over this awful winter bug and trying to deal this crying at night phase that Oisín is going through.

Worst Moment Of the Month?: The awful winter vomiting bug we all had the past week it was awful and I really don't want any of us to get that again for a long time!

Best Moment Of the Month?: Bringing Oisín to a proper restaurant for the first time and he was as good as gold!

This Week I'm Grateful For:

from himself to almost a toddler
who wants to do everything for himself!
He is so independent he wants to feed himself
and now wants to walk by himself
even though he is not quite ready yet!
I am so grateful that I have him in my life

Bump To Baby - He's Here - 10 Month Update

Milestones:

He plays peek a boo now!
When in his walker he can open the washing machine door!
He also opens cupboard doors!
Oisin can now stand on his own when holding on to something!

How Many Months Old?: 10 Months! Can't really believe my baby boy is 10 Months old!

Weight & Height?: Not sure but Oisín is now in all 18 month clothes!

How Is Baby Eating?: On and off again this month due to teething, some days he will be great and eat everything other days he only drinks bottles. He is feeding himself more and really likes it, he is very independent and likes to do things himself.

How Is Baby Sleeping?: Sleeping is a bit like eating at the moment some nights are great, others not so much due to teething. Normally he goes to bed at 7pm and sleeps right through till 7am. On a bad teething day he will fall asleep around 6/6.30pm and wake up through the night, then wake around 5am for the day!

Is Baby Crawling or Walking Yet?: Still no sign of crawling at all, he goes on his belly and gets into crawling position then......nothing! He does like standing and has started to put himself up to his knees in his cot!

Is Baby Talking Yet?: He is he can say Dada, Mama, baba, Nana, and egg! New words this month are yeah, Daddy and boo!

How is Baby's Routine?: It's the same as past months

How is Mammy & Daddy this Month?: We are good this month, getting more time as a couple and looking forward to planning Oisín's first birthday party!

Worst Moment Of the Month?: Last week when Oisín was cutting another tooth and woke at 4am. I was like a zombie for the day!

Best Moment Of the Month?: When he stood on the back of the sofa on his own cause he wanted to look out the living room window!

Bump To Baby - He's Here - 9 Month Update

Milestones:

Oisín has now two teeth! He is also cutting two more!
My baby boy said Mama for the first time this month
He can wave bye bye

How Many Months Old?: 9 Months

Weight & Height?: Not sure keep meaning to weigh him and measure his length

How Is Baby Eating?: Not eating too good this month due to teething, poor little thing if off his food alot this month due to teething pains. What he is enjoying is anything cold or refreshing like pieces of melon, peaches, pears, frozen strawberries, bananas and yogurts

How Is Baby Sleeping?: Due to teething Oisín's sleeping pattern has been a little mixed up,
he has found it hard to sleep during the night and has been waking up with
teething pains. I cuddly him and he normally goes back to sleep!

Is Baby Crawling or Walking Yet?: Still isn't crawling yet but is getting into crawling position and getting alot more upper body strength so I thinking her will be pulling himself into the standing position soon!

Is Baby Talking Yet?: Lots of new words this month for Oisín he said Mama for the first time while I was away for the weekend! Paul rang me to let me hear Oisín say it on the phone! He said it again a few days later when I was at home. He also saying things that sound like hiya, hello! He also loves to scream and babble alot! 

How is Baby's Routine?: Oisín's has changed a good bit this month
He wakes at 7am has a 5oz bottle
He doesn't go back to sleep anymore so we get up and have breakfast around 7.30am or 8am
then Oisín will will play, get dressed and have another bottle at 10am
He goes for a nap around 10.30am or 11am for 30 to 40 minutes
He has lunch at 1.30pm and then another bottle
He has dinner at 5.30 or 6pm
He is normally in bed at 7pm in the evening after baths etc

How is Mammy & Daddy this Month?: Tired!

Worst Moment Of the Month?: In between teething Oisín got a cold which was awful!

Best Moment Of the Month?: When our beautiful baby boy put his arms out to me and said Mama closely followed by when Paul came home from work and Oisín smiled and said Dada to him! 

Bump To Baby - He's Here - 8 Month Update

Milestones:

Oisín can now clap hands when you tell him too!
Eating alot more finger foods
Oisín has now started drinking from a slippy cup
Grasps at everything remote controls and phones!
Oisín has got very vocally and loves to hear himself scream and laugh

How Many Months Old?: 8 Months

Weight & Height?: I think around about the same as last month although he is in 12-18 month clothes now!

How Is Baby Eating?: Oisín has always been a great eater! He loves his finger foods even more this month

How Is Baby Sleeping?: We have been so lucky to have a baby that more or less slept straight through the night from around two months old. Oisín is going through a bit of a growth spurt at the moment so some mornings he will wake up at 6/7am for a bottle and go back to sleep till around 10am, other mornings he will not go back to sleep after the 7am bottle and will be up for the day! He still takes around 2 or 3 cat naps a day for about 30 minutes each.

Is Baby Crawling or Walking Yet?: Still isn't crawling yet but is getting into crawling position and kind of shuffling around! 

Is Baby Talking Yet?: Lots of baby talk going on with Oisín he loves to say baba, dada, lala, still no mama yet! He also alot of baby gibberish and he loves to yell, scream, laugh and blow raspberries  

How is Baby's Routine?: Oisín's routine is more or less the same as the past couple of months.

How is Mammy & Daddy this Month?: I kind of crashed and burned this month, got a double ear infection and jaw infection. I have been on antibiotics and ear drops the past week, got plenty of rest and changed my diet, but I still don't feel well so back to the doctor tomorrow.

Worst Moment Of the Month?: Being sick the past week and not spending the time to play with Oisín

Best Moment Of the Month?: When I asked him to clap hands and he did, when I said good boy he was so happy with himself and now claps hands all the time!

Bump To Baby - He's Here - 7 Month Update

Milestones:
He said DADA and BABA!!
He now walks around in his walker
He can now sit unaided
Holds finger food himself
He can now roll back to front and front to back!
We went swimming for the first time

How Many Months Old?: 7 Months

Weight & Height?: Oisín is 2 stone!! The nurse was happy with it as he has always been a big baby and I forget his length!

How Is Baby Eating?: He is eating almost everything we are! He loves his food! He really like pasta and is also now eating finger food ie large pieces of cheese, slices of melon, strawberries, bananas, carrots, toast, hard boiled eggs.

How Is Baby Sleeping?: He is still sleeping through the night, he goes to bed around 7.30pm and wakes for his first bottle around 6.30am. He goes back to sleep for around an hour and is up for the day at 8am or so. He cat naps during the day with around three 20 minute naps through out the day.

Is Baby Crawling or Walking Yet?: He isn't crawling yet but is getting into crawling position and kind of shuffling around! He loves to be in his walker and on his feet but we don't like to put him in it too much. 

Is Baby Talking Yet?: YES all of a sudden on Sunday morning he said BABA out of no where! He was really chatty since and has said baba, dada, and something that sounded like hiya! No mama yet :(

How is Baby's Routine?: Oisín's routine is more or less the same as the past couple of months.

How is Mammy & Daddy this Month?: We are doing really good this month we got to have a couple of days alone at a wedding and then got to go to the cinema for the first time since before Oisín was born!

Worst Moment Of the Month?: To be honest I can't remember a worst moment this month!

Best Moment Of the Month?: Definitely on Sunday morning when he said Baba and Dada! 

My Week In Pictures 7/52

The weeks are going by so quickly and we are no at the start of July already! My little baby is 6 months already, I am feeling he is starting to leave behind little baby things and do toddler things already! Where is the time going!? Here is my week in pictures:

Monday:

Tuesday: 

We had lovely weather today, so went to the park,

went on the swings, ate ice cream and then brought Oisín swimming

for the first time. He loved and took to the water so well.

 

Wednesday:

 This little fella loves his door bouncer and would

spend the day in it!!
 

Thursday:

Oisín is teething badly at the moment so everything
is going into his mouth, even his shoe!
 

Friday:

I'm stuck in work at the moment and Paul just sent me this picture!

Bump To Baby - He's Here - 6 Month Update

 Oisín at six months old! He is getting so big!

He loves his new door bouncer!



Milestones:
He now loves to stand when I have him sitting on my lap 
he tries to pull himself up so he can stand!
He eats allot more solid food and loves homemade food
He has started wearing some 9-12 month clothes!
Oisín now rolls around all the time!

How Many Months Old?: 6 Months

Weight & Height?: He is in 6-9 month clothes! Not sure of his height and weight but we have a check up soon, so we will know for next months update

How Is Baby Eating?: Like I have said before Oisín really loves his food! He now has move food and less milk. His new favourite is homemade pasta and tomato sauce he really enjoys that. He also loves bananas and strawberries!

How Is Baby Sleeping?: He is still sleeping through the night, he goes to bed around 7.30pm and wakes for his first bottle around 6.30am. He goes back to sleep for around an hour and is up for the day at 8am or so. He cat naps during the day with around three 20 minute naps through out the day.

Is Baby Crawling or Walking Yet?: He isn't crawling yet but he loves being on his belly and trying to move around! 

Is Baby Talking Yet?: No

How is Baby's Routine?: Oisín's routine is more or less the same as the past couple of months. He drinks less milk and eats more. He gets up earlier in the morning and goes to bed earlier in the evening, which happened in the past couple of weeks. Other than that it's more or less the same.

How is Mammy & Daddy this Month?: We are getting used to our new routines as I went back to work a few weeks ago so it's taking awhile for us to get used to it. I do feel allot more tired but I'm sure I will get used to it!

Worst Moment Of the Month?: To be honest I can't remember a worst moment this month!

Best Moment Of the Month?: Watching Oisín and Paul on Paul's first ever Father's Day is was a beautiful day and one I wasn't sure I'd ever see.

My Week In Pictures 6/52

Another week gone, how the time is flying by! We got more bits and pieces done to our new home this week. We are slowly starting to get use to our new routine with me back in work, and child minding duties switching between my Mam and Husband (when he is on the late shift). It does slightly feel that myself and the hubby are like ships pasting in the night at the moment as we are not getting to much time together but I sure that it will just take time to adjust to our new busy routine.

 

Saturday:

Sunday:

Believe it or not my Dad was 70th today! For his birthday my Mam brought him to Scotland for a break away, which he loved, we had a family dinner and drinks. I took this lovely picture this evening.
 

Monday:

My Dad bought this Manchester United football kit for Oisín when he was just two days old!

It finally fits him and how cute it is too!

 

Tuesday:

This little cutie couldn't get enough of some home made pasta with tomato sauce
as you can tell because it's all over his face!
 

Wednesday:

After a bit of a hellish day at work and a teething baby this was just what
I needed!
 

Thursday:

Not going to lie, hats off to all working Mums and especially those who work full time
I only work four days a week and only 40 hours a week so I am only part-time
But man is it tiring! So home made lattes are what fuels me at the moment especially towards the end of the week!
 

Friday:

My beautiful blue eyed boy is six months old today!
Time is going by so fast...can I just press pause for a little while please!

Bump To Baby - He's Here - 5 Month Update

 Oisín at five months old (breakfast all over his face!)

Trying to feed himself he will keeps trying to take the spoon of me 

when I am feeding him breakfast!

Milestones:
Oisín can now roll from back to belly 
(which is unusual as most babies start from belly to back!)
He has two bottom teeth and one top tooth starting to cut through his gum
He can sit unaided for a few seconds!
He has now started to want to hold his spoon and bottle when feeding

How Many Weeks Old?: 5 Months

Weight & Height?: He is in 6-9 month clothes!

How Is Baby Eating?: Oisín really loves his food! He is mostly the same as last month, but he is now having solids at lunch time too. So now he has porridge, baby rice or puree fruit for breakfast, a half a jar of solids at lunch and either the other half the jar at dinner or sometimes I will blend up whatever we are having for dinner. He has also cut down on his bottles, his first and last bottle of the day are 8ozs but during the day he only takes 6oz bottles now with water in between. He has now started trying to take the spoon of me when eating and try to feed himself!

How Is Baby Sleeping?: He still sleeps through the night he goes to bed around 7.30-8.30pm and wakes around 6 or 7am. He cat naps during the day with around three 20 minute naps through out the day.

Is Baby Crawling or Walking Yet?: No not yet!

Is Baby Talking Yet?: No but he has started to blow raspberries at everyone!

How is Baby's Routine?: Is the same as last months but I expect this to change in the next weeks when I go back to work.

How is Mammy & Daddy this week?: Very tired as teething went up a gear this week. Oisín is cutting two teeth and has also a cold so he hasn't been sleeping well at all this week so we are going around very much like zombies! We are also happy to me moving into our new home this weekend.

Worst Moment Of the Week?: Last night when Oisín work also every hour with teething pains and now he has come down with the sniffles and a cough poor thing.

Best Moment Of the Week?: Getting our new home which we move into fingers crossed on Saturday :)

What We Got Up To This Month - February 2014

The weeks are going way too fast! Time is flying by, my newborn is now two months and we are nearly into Spring! Here is what we got up to in the month of February!
