Babies, Babies Every Where!

Recently it seems my facebook newsfeed is full with friends announcing there pregnancy, Instagram is full of scan pictures, youtube is awash with pregnancy announcements, my blogger feed is all pregnancy updates along with some close friends also announcing there pregnancy
I am totally happy and blessed for all these people, family friends, social media friends and strangers
Creating and bringing a new life into the world is an amazing thing. One of the best feelings in the world. The love for your child is like no other and a love I never truly understood until my son came along.
Now that Oisín is almost two I have longed to get pregnant and have a sibling for him. With my PCOS such a big part of my life I knew we would have to try for a while. We have being trying for almost a year now with no result, the treatment which seemed to have worked the first time around is not working. I have lost weight and have undergone a lifestyle change in eating right, losing weight weekly, do weekly exercise and start yoga classes. Nothing seemed to be working this time around for us, but we did get some good news this week.
We are now starting a new fertility treatment which is a little more intense which fingers crossed might work. I am taking a no stress approach this time around, trying to not let getting pregnant take up all my mind space and time.
I hate when people ask me when are you having another one (meaning baby) Sometimes its not as easy as having another and sometimes couples can't have another child for one reason or other.
I am not giving up yet but if it never happens for me again at least I have this beautiful face

I might never be a Mammy to a large family but I AM a Mammy and thats all I ever wanted

Bump To Baby - He's Here - 1 Week Old!

Oisín at 20 minutes old!
Oisín one week old
- Oisín Patrick Furey was born on the 27th December 2013 at 1.42pm he weighted 7lbs 3ozs
- He has blue eyes (which could change) and lots of dark hair
- His eye sight will be still fuzzy for the next couple of weeks but he loves to look at you when he is feeding
- So far he doesn't really cry he makes little noises and grunts to let you know he is not happy!
- He has put on 3ozs since birth so he is now 7lbs 6ozs

How Many Weeks Old?: 1 Week 2 days old

Weight & Height?: He is 7lbs 6ozs not sure of his height will ask nurse when out on Tuesday

How Is Baby Eating?: He is eating really well and really loves his food! Breast feeding wasn't for me so Oisín is being bottle fed every 3/4 hours and is taking 3/4 ozs of milk each feed. We had a tricking day yesterday when he had bad wind but we got through it and he is great today.

How Is Baby Sleeping?: He is sleeping great during the day and mostly good during the night, but there is one feed at 3am that he likes to stay awake for hours after! He was a night owl in the womb think he might be like that on the outside too!

Is Baby Crawling or Walking Yet?: No too early yet!

Is Baby Talking Yet?: To himself maybe he loves to make little noises, gurgling and grunts!

How is Baby's Routine?: We are still getting into a routine with him, he is still so new and everything is trial and error

How is Mammy & Daddy this week?: It has been a whirlwind week a total roller coaster! We went through the first couple of days on cloud nine, then we got lots of visitors and that drained me! We went on our first day out with Oisín which I took on too much and my ankles swelled up to balloons and the nurse had to be called out! Now we are slowly getting into a routine and taking it a little bit easier. Paul has another week off from work which I am really grateful for so we have some more time to get our routine a little smoother before he goes back to work. We are both a little shattered but we are still floating on air at the moment!

Worst Moment Of the Week?: Yesterday when I got a touch of the baby blues and Oisín had trapped wind which no matter what we done didn't get better.

Best Moment Of the Week?: Bringing this little man into the world. The labour was fast and sore my pain relief only kicked in after he was born as the actually labour went so fast but I would do it all again in a heartbeat. Our world has changed so much in 7 days I can't imagine our life with out him.

Cussons Mum & Me Bump Range Review

I went out and got these few items last weekend when I rang out of Bio Oil. I was going to get some more Bio Oil but then I saw that Boot's had a 3 for 2 offer on these items so I thought I would give them a go.

Stretch Mark Cream - I really like this cream, it smells like almonds and feels really good on my skin. It has the consistence of a cream but when you put it on your skin it rubs in more like a body butter. It drys in quickly so there is no waiting around for it to dry into your skin which I really like. It calms my skin down almost immediately when its really itchy and red. I use this twice a day in the morning and in the night time before bed.

Relax & Unwind Sleep Mist - I only really bought this because I got one item free and didn't expect much from this at all. How wrong I was I totally love this product! I haven't been getting much sleep lately so I was willing to give anything a go! I spray a light mist around the air near my bed before I go to sleep at night, its the relaxing chamomile smell that has me relaxed before my head hits the pillow! I don't sleep more and I am still waking a 5/6am but what this does is help me get off to sleep quicker, and I feel like I am going into a deeper more relaxed sleep. So I wake up in the morning more relaxed and rested.

Relax & Unwind Bath Soak - Baths are my new thing! I take allot more of them now that I am in my third trimester to try help achy joints and rip pain. This bath soak is nice again it has the lovely smell like the sleep mist, only a tiny amount creates lots of bubbles. My skin felt lovely and soft after it and I felt totally relaxed.

In totally I was pleasantly surprised by these products and will be buying them again. Cussons also do a New Mum range and a baby range which I will be trying out as soon as little blip is here.

Bump To Baby - 31 Weeks Pregnant

- Little Blip is now the size of a pineapple! Not so little anymore!
- Baby is kicking and moving all the time, getting more like jabs now and very strong!
- Having lots of Braxton Hicks this week!
- I now have an outie belly button!
- Was back at the hospital this morning and my sugar levels are still not leveling out so doctor has upped my dose of tablets :(
- Baby is measuring two weeks ahead of what it should so instead of 31 weeks baby is measuring at 33 weeks!

How Many Weeks Pregnant?: 31 Weeks

Nickname For Baby?: Little Blip

Gender Of Baby?: We don't know!

Any Stretch Marks Yet?: No new ones yet but again my belly was very itchy this week so I'm sure there will be some more soon

Any Maternity Clothes Yet?: I just bought two large jumpers and a cardigan in Penny's this week.

Any Movement Yet?: Lots and lots of movement this week baby is always so active. Sometimes if I get a little stressed I think oh blip hasn't movement in a while I then get a big kick into the ribs! Kicks and flutters have now turned into jabs in the ribs and strong bounces on my bladder!

How Is Sleeping?: Sleeping isn't good and I expect it to be like that until the baby is born. The sleep mist is helping me to get to sleep quicker but I am now waking almost every hour to go to the toilet or because my hips and ribs ache. Nothing I can do about it only take cat naps in the day when I can.

Any Nausea?: None this week!

Food Cravings?: Nothing really this week just enjoying cold glasses of milk!

Food Aversions?: None

Miss Anything From Before Being Pregnant?: I am missing not being on this gestational diabetes diet, the diet can be quite boring. So I am missing chocolate and nice things like that, but I told the hubby when baby is born he can get me the biggest box of chocolates he can find with something pink, alcoholic and fizzy to wash it down with!

Symptoms This Week?: Braxton Hicks was the main symptom this week getting them all week. I seem to get around 3/4 and then they go a way. Feeling short of breath allot this week, itching belly, trapped wind and indigestion.

Worst Moment Of the Week?: No worse moment of the week, just a feeling a little down after all the work I am doing sticking to the most boring gestational diabetes diet that my sugar levels haven't levelled out. We will find out more in three weeks time when I go back to the hospital.

Best Moment Of the Week?: Paul being my rock as usual, he is so good and looks after me so good.

Things Nobody Told Me About Pregnancy!

Now that I am a little into my third trimester and almost 31 weeks pregnant I can safely say I was so naive when I got pregnant! I had the version of pregnancy in my head, that was me singing to bump, while knitting booties, in a yoga position, eating watermelon and of course there would be rainbows and unicorns, and I would float around like in a dream!! Of course pregnancy isn't like that (it might be for some people) but it wasn't at all like that for me.
First trimester consisted of me vomiting all the time, awkwardly getting off a packed bus to throw up at a bus stop! Feeling so tired that I could barely stay awake at my desk in work!
Then along come the second trimester and I got my mojo back! Couldn't keep my hands of the hubby! Had lots of energy nesting came into full swing, but felt it was too early to get certain things. Towards the end of my second trimester I crashed and was put on bed rest, and was diagnosed with gestational diabetes which comes with the most boring diet plan ever!
Now I am in the third trimester and I feel like a steam roller has run over me I am so tired all of a sudden! Nesting is in fully swing if only I had the energy to do anything about it! Third trimester comes with a whole load of symptoms that no one told me about! Don't get me wrong I really like being pregnant, the kicks and movements of our baby are wonderful to feel. To think that my body is making a little baby just blows my mind. I look in the mirror and see how much my body has changed and it's amazing what our bodies can do. To think at the moment I have two heart beats is just crazy. Everyday I am in awe of what women can do and how strong we are. I just wish one of those women could of mentioned these few things to me!

1. Weeing - I wee all the time now! If I go out I take two trips to the toilet before we leave and when we get there my first mission is to find out where the toilets are!

2. Trapped Wind Cramps Hurt So Bad - I have had trapped wind before, I mean we all have in some time or another, but I have never ever had the enemy that is pregnancy trapped wind! It is the worst thing ever especially when you get it for three days straight! At one time I was thinking I would stick a pin in my belly and let the air out like a beach ball!

3. Snoring - The only time I normally snore is if I had a few too many glasses of wine, now I sound like a bear with a sore head! I have woke myself, the hubby, and probably the neighbours with my snoring!

4. Drool - This is one of the gross symptoms I have woke up a number of times in a swimming pool of my own drool! It even grosses me out!

5.Weird Dreams - So if it's not the snoring or drooling waking you up, its the crazy weird dreams! I have had some really intense ones! One about a crazy serial killer who like to skin his victims alive was very scary, I was too terrified to go back asleep after that one! Weird Jeremy Kyle style fights with family member's dreams and then the steamy dreams with the news presenter off the telly!

6. Boobs - That they literally start growing from the moment you wee on the pregnancy test! I honestly thought this didn't happen until towards the end of your pregnancy!

7. Rib Pain - Is always there, doesn't matter if you trying to sleep, watch TV, have a bath the dull ache of rib pain is always there!

8. Weeing Yourself - No matter how many kegal/pelvic floor exercises I do there is still the chance if I cough or sneeze I will wet myself, thanks to baby using my bladder as a trampoline!

9. Walking -That a walk that took me twenty minutes before being pregnant will now take me over a hour! Also I don't walk anymore I waddle!

10. Crying or Laughing - I will literally cry at everything that includes TV ads and soaps! If not that I laugh hysterically for ten minutes at something that is not remotely funny!

11. Feeling Tired - Waking up with bundles of energy and a full list of things to do, then falling asleep while sitting on the bed getting dressed!

12. Not Scared Anymore - No matter how scared I am of labour I am started to feel like "Whatever bring it on"!

There is some things I will miss about being pregnant. Like how men now become gentlemen when they see a pregnant woman, opening doors, giving you there seat, wish they where like that all the time. I will miss feeling blips movement, but I will then please god have little blip in my arms.
