Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the main men!
I am one of those lucky people who have amazing strong men in my life
My Dad is one in a million I will always be his little girl. We are very alike strong willed and stubborn but also kind hearted and generous. Watching my Dad become a Grandfather, spending most of his time with Oisìn, playing, drawing and teaching Oisìn is wonderful and makes me feel a whole different kind of love.We love you Dad!

Happy Father's day to my hubby....who is the most amazing Dad to our little boy
The bond you two boys have is amazing..Oisìn truly is your mini me!
Thank you for everything you do for us. One of my highlights every day is when Oisìn sees you
come home from work and his eyes light up. We love you

Happy Father's Day Eddie!
Oisìn adores his Granddad Eddie he gets upset when you have to leave for tour dates
But loves to watch you sing on TV! He asks about you almost every day, and watching the love you have for each other always makes me smile. Oisìn definitely has your gift for music as he loves to sing and dance. We love you Granddad Eddie!

Console Celebration of Light

On Sunday evening I was once again invited to Console's annual concert
for family and friends who have lost loved ones through suicide
Last year my Mam came with me this year I managed to get three tickets and
my Father could also attend with us
It was my third year to attend and it means so much to me
giving us one evening over the festive time to just remember and celebrate
my brother who we lost in 2006
Although we miss him every day and think of him all the time
This is a beautiful two and half hours once a year to just remember, cry, think and celebrate his life

My Dad like my Mam last year was unsure
what to expect, he is not very religious and was hoping it wasn't praying for two hours!
When the he realised it was an evening of celebration, songs and poems
he really relaxed and really enjoyed his time there

This year's theme was Hope and yes there is still Hope and Light
After you go through something like this everything seems dark
There doesn't seem to be any light around but believe me there is
always a little light in the dark
It might be small but it's there growing
On the evening one candle is lit then we are all given candles
and we light them together to represent this

This year's beautiful singers included
Paul Hennessy who sang You Raise Me Up,
Liam Lawton who sang Bring Him Home,
Rebecca Storm sang You'll Never Walk Along
and Jack L sang Ole Man River
Christy Keneally who narrated the evening has such a beautiful way with words

Again I watched my parents leave a little lighter then they entered
My Dad didn't stop talking about it all the way home!
The thing that I love about this evening is that
We can grieve and let our feelings out knowing
everyone there is feeling the same way
It's nine years since our brother left this world
the pain will always be there
Knowing we have an evening like this every year
makes the pain a little more bearable
Thank you to everyone at Console for this amazing evening
Remember Suicide it not
the answer there is always
light at the end of the tunnel
please talk

Five Things 34/52

Hello everyone and happy Monday! Hope you weekend was good. To be honest I just wanted to sleep through mine! Think it was all the early mornings and hospital appointments caught up with me! So I spent my weekend sleeping, nesting, and online shopping! I so over spent and am going to be broke this week, but I did make a start on Christmas shopping, well for every one Christmas present I bought I bought two things for me!! Anyway here is my five things from this weekend:

This my guilty pleasure The Kardashins! Its such rubbish TV but I love watching how they do things in la-la land! Everything is so over the top and I can't stop watching it! What's your TV guilty pleasure?

This lovely bag of goodies my Mam and Dad picked up for me and blip! Baby hat, disposable changing mats, nappy bags and this lovely nightdress with dressing gown set that is going straight in my hospital bag!

Cuddling up with the hubby on Saturday night and watching one of my favourite duvet day movies Baby Boom.

Getting our chest of drawers delivered this is going to double up as a changing unit/area for blip as we have lack of space. My Mam bought this for us and I love it, the great thing is that when we move there is a whole set of furniture to match this that we can get for little blips room.

Spent most of the weekend online shopping, picking out presents and clothes. Went a little crazy on the yankee candle website for every Christmas present I bought I got two things for me!!

So that's mine five things what's yours?

Five Things 20/52

What a beautiful weekend it was! The weather is cheering everyone up and for once it feels like we are getting a proper summer! I have to be honest and say I can't really enjoy the weather as much as I would like as for me being pregnant and summer heat doesn't really go together but I am trying to enjoy it as much as I can. So here are my five things from the weekend:

Showing my parents the pram/travel set I fell in love with and then for my Dad to surprise us by putting down the deposit on it! Love my parents x

Buying pretty things that FIT me in Mothercare!!

Yummy Saturday Morning breakfast of danish and orange juice!

My new pregnancy pillow which I am loving great back support and its making a nights sleep so much better I actually slept right through the night last night with this!!

Our new fan has been a life saver this weekend we have it on when we get up straight through to night time! For me it has been amazing! Never thought I would get excited over fans and pillows but this is what pregnancy does to you!!

What is your five things from over the weekend?

Five Amazing People In My Life...

My brother he was my best friend for a very long time. We understood each other better than anyone else. There was only a year in our age different so we were best friends as well as brother and sister. He brought the man I love my husband into my life and I will always be forever grateful for that. I miss him very much but I know he is with me, in times of need he is our family angel.

My hubby Paul he is my rock, my friend, my handy man, my cook, my cleaner, my annoying little shit, my tea maker, my swim teacher, my companion, my cheesy joke teller, my junk collector, my mess maker, my hug giver, my alarm clock, my motivator, my lover and my husband. He loves me for me and I can't ask for more than that x

My Mammy is the best, but I bet we all say that but its true. Mammy's are wonderful aren't they? My Mammy is my best friend I can tell her anything and she never judges me. I go to her for help for motivation, for advice, for tea and for hugs! She makes the best Irish stew EVER and makes a mean cup of tea! I love going out shopping with her and if I try something on that she doesn't like on me she will just say something like "I've seen you in nicer things love" that's her way of saying my bum looks big in it! Love you Mammy....x

My Daddy he is so funny the joke teller of our family. He makes me smile when I am down. He gets me! He knows if I am having a bed day or if I am feeling a little blue. He is great for having a heart to heart he gives me great advice but is terrible at taking advice! He treats me like his little princess and sometime still thinks I am five! He loves his pint of Guinness and tells everyone that is the secret of staying young! When him and Paul get together they are so funny, joking and ganging up on me and Mum! I will always be a Daddy's girl x

My Father In Law Eddie. He is a wonderful man always ready for a joke or a story, like my Dad he comes from different times. When people had nothing and where lucky to have clothes on there backs. He went from having nothing to making a huge career for himself with the help of his brothers. He always give me a cuddle when I see him and I feel like he is my Dad too. I am so lucky to have a wonderful parents in-law as my mother in-law is an inspiration to me too x
