Over The Weekend 50&51

I have been MIA from this blog the past few weeks
I had alot on with my Mam's Birthday and then my brother's 10th Anniversary
While I am still in a bit of a change of seasons slump
While I back to reading and watching my favourite TV shows I still seem to be feeling
a bit meh in myself.
Hubby and I are having a bit of a treat the end of this week
Oisìn is having a sleep over in his Grandparents and we are going for a meal and to see a show
I am really looking forward to some quality time with the hubby

Anyway two weekends ago it was my Mam's birthday
I brought her out for a meal and it was a bit of a ladies night!
It was lovely to spend time together just the two of us
That Saturday was the All Ireland GAA Football final rematch with Dublin and Mayo
It was a tight match but Dublin won and it reminded me of this picture of my brother
He loved Dublin and went to alot of the matches but he died before Dublin started there winning streak. So he never got to see the team he loves so much raise the Sam, but I know he was smiling down on Croke Park

I always wear Patrick's Dublin jersey when Dublin are in the final.
Oisìn asked to wear this time so I let him and he was so pleased
but it did look like an over sized nightie on him!

That Sunday it was ten years since this funny face left us
It did hit me a little hard that morning I had some time out listening to his favourite songs.
I really missed him it's funny how even after ten years it can feel like yesterday
He was a beautiful gentle soul and the world is a little bit darker and harsh without him

We had a family dinner at ours that Sunday it was a day to spend with family
We raised a glass of Patrick and spoke about the good times with him
When my parents had gone home Paul and I watched our Sunday night favourites
Poldark and Victoria

After a illness filled week this was very much needed Friday night
Oisìn & I have been filled with cold and hubby had a chest and sinus infection
So it was nice to chill out with a glass of vino and watch Gogglebox

On Saturday I got some of the Halloween bits down
Oisìn was slightly scared but came around and now loves talking to the pumpkin!

Speaking of Oisìn he seems to be going through a funny stage
He has been lashing out in creche and at home
He has regressed in potty training and it feels like we are starting again with toilet training
I think moving into the older room in creche has set him back a bit
This Mammy needed alot of patience this weekend with tantrums and wetting accidents!

A last minute family Sunday roast happened which was really nice
I love having my parents for dinner and Sunday really is our family day
Bubbles, candles and Poldark finished off our weekend!

Over The Weekend #12

We had a lovely festive weekend
as the hubby was working the weekend
we brought Oisín into Dublin City Centre on Friday
to see Santa and enjoy the Christmas markets

It was really cool Friday morning so
Oisín was really wrapped up!
Oisin loved the lights, he was pointed and laughing at them!
Santa Claus and Oisín
Oisín was so good and we even managed a photo on Santa's knee!
Saturday was my Slimming World Christmas Party
My friend and I had a ball
and drank maybe a little too much!
Sunday was mostly spent like this
crashing on the sofa with tea, Christmas lights and Christmas movies!!

We had a yummy Sunday lunch in my parents
my Mam makes a fab Sunday dinner

Father and Son watching the All Ireland GAA final

Then it was home Oisín was bathed, candles where lit, heating on
and prosecco poured ready for Downton Abbey

It's back and bitter sweet what I am going to do

Five Things 30/52

Hope you all had a lovely weekend! It was lovely and sunny here in Dublin this weekend I am still on bed rest so I didn't get to enjoy it much. We did get to go see my favourite band Fleetwood Mac Saturday so that was amazing, but spent most of Sunday asleep in bed after it so it did take its toll on me! Anyway here are my five things from the weekend:

Friday Night relaxing running a bubble bath with lots of candles and listening to the best of Fleetwood Mac!

Think I over did it on the bubble bath!! The bubbles went everywhere!!! I left the water running lit candles and put my cd on by the time I got back the suds where almost over flowing! It was a lovely bubble bath just what my achy joints need!

Going to see my favourite band EVER Fleetwood Mac!! I have been excited to see this band since way back in February when we bought the tickets! I have been to see them twice way back in 2003 and 2009  but it was Paul's first time to see them live so I was hoping he would enjoy. Before the gig we found a pub/restaurant that had yummy food and was playing Fleetwood Mac songs really loud so of course we went there to have dinner! The gig itself was amazing Paul loved it from the first song! We were singing along clapping, cheering, blip was kicking and we got up to dance towards the end. Amazing gig but I was so tired Sunday but it was worth it!

Dublin won the All Ireland Gaelic Football final on Sunday! We would normally go out to watch the match but Paul had to work for half of the day and I was on bed rest plus shattered from the gig the night before and I slept for most of the day! When Dublin plays it always reminds me of my brother Patrick so when I did watch the match I put his over sized jersey on and watched it on the sofa with Paul. It was a tense match with only one point in the difference but Dublin done it and became All Ireland champions!

Downton Abbey is back!! I love this show since it started four years ago! It always means the start of Autumn for me even though it felt more like Summer again this weekend! I still pulled the curtains, lit candles and got cosy to watch this great show. Can't wait to see plots unfold as we see more as the weeks go on.

What where your five things of the weekend?

The Tall Ships Dublin

Some pics of the Tall Ships here last weekend.

My Mam & I had a girlie day out last Sunday, we went into Dublin Docks to see the Tall Ships before they left Dublin. It was a really fun day out. We saw all the tall ships, and sailors!! Strolled through the craft stalls saw lots of pretty hand made things. Went to a fun fair, drank chilled white wine on a boat, listened to Irish music, watched Irish dancing, drank more wine, ate fresh oysters and overall had a lovely Mammy & daughter day out. Cant wait for the next one!
