This Month I Have Mostly Been Reading~August

I gave myself a huge TBR this month I got through most of them
but I might have been pushing my luck to think I would get through them all!
I really enjoyed reading this month and found myself reading every where I could get a few moments in peace (well as much peace you can get with a two and half year old bouncing about) in the bath, on the bus, at hospital appointments and in the garden.
I do think I slightly burned myself out by the end of the month because this week
it took me forever to get through one book! September is a busy month so my TBR will be around seven books!

Always With Love~Giovanna Fletcher
This is the sequel to Billy and Me which I read last Summer on holidays
I really enjoyed it so was looking forward to reading this follow up.
It follows on from Billy & Me, with Sophie and Billy staying in the quiet little village Rosefont Hill while Billy is taking time out from Hollywood. Billy is the big star and Sophie the stay at home girl next door, their relationship is still very new and fresh. The book deals with when Billy goes back to Hollywood, Sophie meets his parents, can there relationship survive the long distance?
I really wanted to love this book as I had really liked the characters in Billy & Me but
I felt the plot was so drawn out that maybe there was no need for a sequel. It is a nice, sweet read but I felt that it needed more drama, as it felt a little dull in places, for me Billy and Sophie lost something as characters as I just couldn't connect with them in this book. The misunderstanding and conflicts which where meant to give the big drama in the book, felt overblown and are sorted out maybe a little too easily!
I do like Giovanna Fletcher's books but this wasn't my favourite.

After You~Jojo Moyes
I read Me Before You at the start of Summer and loved it. I know it gets alot of flak from readers but I just loved it and thought it was one of the best books I read in years. I was so excited when I heard there was a sequel I couldn't wait to read it, and now that I have I feel meh!
For me I was so disappointed in Lou's storyline, yes I know she was grieving and I know from personally experience how hard that can be but I just didn't believe that she would go back to a dead end job after everything she learned and that happened in Me Before You.
I think for me the problem was this book is so different from the first book that it doesn't really feel like a sequel. If I hadn't read Me Before You I probably would of liked this book more for what it is and that is a fairly good stand alone novel about a group of people trying to find themselves after various heart aches in there lives.
Some of the new characters are just plain boring or unlikable. I just hated spoiled poor rich me storyline and character of Lily, where we meant to feel sorry for this character cause I just wanted to slap her through out the book! While I loved Lou's character in Before You I didn't like her very much in this follow up! She came across as whinny, naive and a bit of a push over! The new love interest is nice but fairly forgettable, and some of the sub plots like Lou's Mother's mid life crisis felt unnecessary and I didn't enjoy the whole near death experience at the end of the book.
Part's of the book did sparkle but I didn't feel anyway like I did  while reading Before You
and being honest I think this sequel was not needed, for me Lou and Will's story ended in Me Before You.

Enchanted August~Brenda Bowen
This is basically an updated version of Elizabeth Von Arnmin's Enchanted April which I love
so was expecting to love this novel. I didn't I liked it but didn't fall in love with it!
Four strangers see an ad about a cottage in Maine and rent it for the month of August.
Where they can escape the realities of life, for two full time Mothers it's a chance to escape the gossiping at the school gates, demanding kids and husbands. Another is trying to get over the death of the love of there life, and another is a Hollywood actress trying to escape the latest scandal in LaLa Land! I loved the setting on Hope Island this book transported me to beautiful Maine with, sea food, parties, and beautiful beaches.
I liked the characters but did not love them, sometimes each of them where annoying in there own way! It did take a while for me to get into the book the pacing was slow at the start, for a short book I thought I would get through it quick but I put it down a few times. I am not sure why but I found it hard to fully get into and I'm not sure what I didn't like. While I like the journey the characters where on and the setting was stunning it felt there was alot of waiting for the story to pick up.
Of course the characters grew and I loved the ending of the book but for me the book just lacked something.

Time To Say Goodbye~SD Robertson
I am feeling a slight theme to the books I read this month liked but didn't love!
This next book is the same I can't really review this book without spoilers so SPOILERS AHEAD!
In basic terms this book is about a Father Will who is bringing up this daughter alone as his wife has died in childbirth but when he is killed in an car accident he doesn't accept his death and wants to stay with his daughter.
So far I liked it and found it tear jerking. He is then given a guide who is meant to help him pass over without much fuss, Will is then giving a dead line date in which he has to make a choice to pass over or stay and there is no going back for either choice. If he decides to stay it's for all eternity he will not be able to pass over again, and when his love ones pass away he will have to watch them pass over unable to go with them.
I am not sure if Will had his daughter's best interests at heart or his own but he finally finds a way for her to see him and talk to him, but only she can see him and he makes her not tell anyone. Not a very nice thing to do to a six year old who is struggling with losing her Father.
The first part of the book I really enjoyed and found it hard to put down, but then a quarter way through the book a big secret comes to light about Will's Dad and then it lost it creditable with me. I really didn't like where it went then, and found that storyline quite pointless. It did pick up again towards the end of the book. I really enjoyed Roberston's style of writing and the book is very easy to get into straight from the very first page. I think personally I would of enjoyed it more if the story kept it's focus on the father/daughter relationship instead of adding a unnecessary storyline about Will's Father which ends up with his death. The whole we can turn back time twist at the end of the book, lessened the whole feel of the story for me. That all been said I read this book in two days as I couldn't put it down! It pulled me in from the first page and while I didn't like how it ended it is a good piece of story telling.

Bitter Sweet~Miranda Beverly-Whittemore
This is a book that was recommended to me so I found it in my library I wasn't sure if it was my thing when I read the blurb, but it turned out to be one of my favourites this month and of the Summer!
It tells the story of two college room-mates Mabel and Ev, Mabel the narrator is on a scholarship, loves college, learning and literature, unlike Ev she isn't blonde or thin, although she does have one thing in common with Ev she hates her home life especially her Mother. She is ready to do anything not to have to go home for the Summer even if that is sell her soul to privileged, self centred, snobby, glamours Ev.
Ev invites Mabel to spend the Summer in Winloch the Winslow Summer Residence. Each of the Winslow family live here from the big house to the little cabins, from the head of the family to the distant cousins. Mabel is just happy to be some what popular and feels like her and Ev are actually becoming friends. This book was definitely armchair transport as I felt like I was there in forest and beaches of Vermont. Mabel thinks that this wonderful family can do no wrong and the Summer will be a hazy time of relaxing, exploring, eating, drinking and having fun. It is all that but somehow Mabel gets roped into keeping secerts, while babysitting Ev and uncovering dark secrets about the family. The more she learns about the family the more she is horrified, but she has fallen for one of the family and being honest she liked the high life and she loves Winloch. As she wrestles with her morals a huge a price is paid before she could do anything about it.
I really enjoyed this novel with it's many twists, turns and shocks. I loved the ending. It's not everyones cup of tea and it does have it's flaws but I could look pass them and enjoy the story. I would recommends this for book clubs as it seems to divide opinion!

Goodnight Lady~Martina Cole
This a very different type of Martina Cole one of her early books and like Faces it spans decades.
I much perter Cole's earlier works to some of her later books which have lost some of the spark.
This is based around Briony Cavanagh at the turn of the twentieth century, when she is sold by her family to essentially keep a roof over there heads to a sick perverted rich man. He uses an abuses Briony and then gets her pregnant when she is only 12 years old. Briony isn't give a choice what to do with her baby son she has to give him up to the rich man's wife who although kind had used Briony to get what she wants a child. This changes Briony and she knows she will stop at nothing to get what she wants in life, with the help of  her partner tough Tommy Lane she fast comes a well know madame, with Tommy they become the Faces of the East End. Briony isn't a gangster she is a well loved but feared member of the East End. The story moves into the Jazz heights of the 1920's and we get to know Briony sister's each of which is different but I enjoyed reading about them all. The story moves to the 30's and 40's and that could be the finish of the novel, but Martina Cole's earlier books are epics and this one was no different at more than 800 pages it sweeps into the 50's with The Twins Briony's nephews. This two become the most feared and violent Faces of the East End. They do sound very like the Kray twins the last part of the book is classic Cole and more like her other books but I really enjoyed Briony's story.
This book takes the reader on a epic journey, from the slums of London at the turn of the twentieth century, to the Jazz filled clubs of the 1920's, to the glamour of a singer on the rise in the 1930's, to the bombed out streets of London in the 1940's and the hazy Summers of swinging 60's
Cole's has brilliant layered characters in this book, some chapters I disliked Briony but mostly I love her! I have read alot of Martina Cole and this one is definitely one of my favourites.

Finding Fraser~KC Dyer
I am now three books into the Outlander series and a bit obsessed with the TV show
so when I found out there was a novel about a woman on her a quest to find her own Jamie Fraser I knew I just had to read it!
Emma is turning 30 after a failed marriage she is having a bit of a mid life crisis and decides to sell up and go to Scotland to repeat Claire's journey in the book Outlander. Emma is a funny yet slightly annoying main character! She seems to be more like 19 than 29 in the way she is so trusting and falls for Scottish men very quickly.....well normally the douche bags anyway! The one she should really be looking at is in front of her eyes. For a huge Outlander fan she seems caught up in what her Jamie should look like and not that bothered about the personalty or quality's that make Jamie a dream man!
Some of the things that happen in the book are very funny like the Outlander Convention, Emma getting robbed, and The Outlander tour.
I did had a few issues with it for an Outlander inspired book there isn't much Outlander in it, I actually know more about William Wallace after reading this than Jamie! Emma's sister I wanted to punch in the face for most of the book! She was so annoying and degrading to Emma, but now looking back at how immature Emma was, maybe her sister was sick of picking her crap! I loved the character of Jack but there wasn't enough of him in the book, he actually reminded me of Roger from the Outlander books. I would of liked to find out much more about him, besides the few things we actually know about him. The ending was done really well and I really enjoyed the scenes at the stones.
If your a chick lit fan and a fan of Outlander you might like this just don't expect to love it!

What Oisìn has been reading this month:
Mutt Dog~Stephen Michael King
My little boy has been loving this sweet story of a stray dog who finally finds a family and a home.
Such a lovely book which pulls on the heart strings. Oisìn loves it so much I have found it in bed with him during the night!

What have you been reading this month?

Weekly Favourites

This week has a bit of everything, bit of Summer, bit of Autumn,
bit of Stevie Nicks, bit of Outlander, bit of Jamie Fraser,
bit of wine and a bit of beer!

Book
Finding Fraser~KC Dyer
I love anything Outlander related so when I found out there was a novel
about a women on a quest to find her own Jamie Fraser! I knew I just has to read it!
I am only quarter of the way through and it has already had me in giggles!
So far Emma has encountered a tanned Jamie stripper, been robbed by an Irish chancer, and basely robbed an airline!
I can't wait to read what happens next!

Blog
Charlotte's blog is actually one blog that I have been following since I started blogging!
I love following her Mum advice, hauls, recipes and her journey as she became a Mum
for a second time to her daughter Daisy. She has had a rough time of it lately and sometimes I just want to giver her a virtual hug!
Her vlog channel is also very good and I love her weekend style vlogs
I will definitely be featuring her vlog channel here again

Movie
La Belle Et La Bete
I rediscovered this beautiful old 1946 movie while having a clean out the other day!
I have it on an old VHS tape so I hooked up the video player and then got lost in this
stunning black and white movie! I first saw it at the age of 16 after I heard Stevie Nicks wrote a
song after seeing this movie. I found a copy on ebay and after I watched it I knew why Nicks had to write a song after watching it!
This French subtitled black and white old movie took my breath away! Josette Day is brilliant as the slightly aloof Belle but for me Jean Marias steals the movie as not just the Beast/Prince but he also plays Avent (this movies version of Gaston from the Disney movie) I love the twist that he plays both Belle's suitors. The stunning filming tricks such as the arm of candelabra's have been used in different movies as homage to this movie. Written and directed by Jean Cocteau who in my opinion was a legend

Instagram
This account follows Gemma and her hand crafted small business
but also her life as a mum, wife and gin drinker!

Album
In Your Dreams~Stevie Nicks
This is my favourite solo album from Stevie since her first album Bella Donna
For me it's classic Stevie and takes her back to her roots. It's romantic soft rock at its best, I think working with Dave Stewart has added a dept to her music. These two know what works for Stevie and I love every single song on this album. It has a kind of Gothic feel to it, with Stevie referencing Anne Rice in the song New Orleans, Mr Rochester in Wide Sargasso Sea, Twilight in Moonlight, Edgar Allan Poe in Annabelle Lee and true love in Italian Summer. She also sings about her love affairs in the songs on this album Mick Fleetwood in Secret Love, and of course Lindsey Buckingham in Everybody Loves You and You May Be The One.

Drink

Castellore Pinot Grigio~ Aldi 6.50
I really enjoy a nice Pinot Grigio and this is my favourite from Aldi
This Italian wine has a fresh citrus taste to it, it's a lovely dry crisp wine
I love to drink it with seafood or pasta
Schofferhofer~Aldi 1.80
Hubby has been loving this German light wheat beer from Aldi
It keeps it's frothy head for the whole glass
For such a cheap beer it has a great quality

Vlogger
PeruseProject
I love Regan's booktub channel! She comes across as a person who really does loves to read.
While I don't read alot of the genre she does, she is mostly into fantasy and YA. While I do like some fantasy I am more of an adult fiction reader.
That being said I still love watching her reviews of all different book, her unboxings and book hauls. I have actually bought a book called Queen of the Night due to one of her book hauls and can't wait to read it!

Store
To be honest I had never bought anything from this online store
before but I have another wedding coming up in September
and was looking for a new maxi dress and they have some
really reasonable ones but so pretty too!

So that's my favourites for this week
Now someone pass the prosecco it's finally FRIDAY

Song of the Week

This week has been sponsored by the song...

Moonlight (A Vampire's Dream)~Stevie Nicks
This is my favourite song from Stevie Nick's since Fleetwood Mac's Rhiannon
I just love this finished song called Moonlight which has been a hit with fans since the mid 70's when the demo was leaked and it was called Lady From The Mountain. Stevie has tried to recorded it solo and with Fleetwood Mac down through the years but was either not happy with the finished song or else it didn't fit the feel of various albums.
When she started to work with Dave Stewart of Eurythmics she brought him this song
with some added verses. The added verses are from 2009 when Stevie saw the Twilight New Moon movie Stevie is a huge vampire fan she loves Anne Rice etc So some of the verses date back to the 1970's and some from 2009. The finished song is amazing and fits so well on the album
In Your Dreams which is my favourite Stevie Nick's solo album since Bella Donna.
The Gothic video goes so well with the style of the song it's classic Stevie and I love that Dave Stewart makes an quirky apperance too!
This is definitely one of my most played songs ever....it brings out the romantic in me!

On The Box This Week

Warning-TV Spoilers Ahead!

Dwayne Johnston or The Rock as we all really know him as, is back in Ballers
This about a group of American football players, there agents and families
It is quite like the sports version on Entourage, and while I really didn't like that show
I love Ballers the cast, writing and music is what makes it for me. The Rock is brilliant as slightly jagged ex football turned agent Spencer Strasmore. Andy Garcia has been added to the cast for this second season as Spencer's mentor turned enemy and I am really enjoying the story lines so far this season.

Just can't beat a bit of Paul Hollywood on hump day!!
The bake off was back tonight as 12 new amateur bakers battle to become the bake off 2016 champion
I love looking at these new faces on week 1 and wondering who is going to join the winners
and who will become slightly annoying by crying all the time!
Mel and Sue where as funny as ever,
with Mel even asking one baker where she got orange juice from the baker replied from an orange!!
My favourites so far are retired head mistress Val who was bobbing around to a bit of Ed Sheeran in her VT! She almost put cornflour in her bake and told Paul Hollywood to come see her later!
Jane is another favourite and she looked so happy with tears in her eyes when she was announced Star Baker. But I do think Selasi was robbed of Star Baker this week, this huge hunk of a man looked so relaxed and at ease in the bake off tent I almost thought he was on holiday and had wandered into the wrong tent! His bakes looked amazing, and from what Paul and Mary said tasted amazing too! Selasi is basely winning at life!
The right person when home in Lee he had a awful weekend. Next week is biscuit week so I better get some custard creams in!

My Tips For Potty Training!

We have been potty training almost two full weeks now
By no means am I an expert! We still have accidents, we still go through at least two pairs of pants a day, but we are getting there! Oisìn no longer uses a potty but a toddler toilet seat on our toilet which we can take off and bring with us when we go out. He normally tells me when he needs the toilet but can get carried away when playing and forgets! We have had days out and he has been great but the big test will be seeing how he gets on in daycare this week!
These are the big tips that helped me out when starting potty training Oisìn

Every Child Is Different
I learned this pretty quickly when becoming a parent and it's no different when potty training. Every child is different some might not learn in three days to potty train, some might take weeks. Some might love using the potty, some will only just the big toilet. Some might go the poo straight away, some might hold it until they can't anymore! Some might like bribes some mightn't need it, so don't compare your child to anyone else and just let them be themselves

Make Sure Your Child Is Ready
I learned the hard way with this we tried Oisìn at the start of May with the potty and he HATED it!
He just wasn't ready and we had two days of crying and weeing until we decided he just wasn't ready. We then looked for signs like he would leave the room or go to a corner to poo! He wanted to be changed straight after a poo or big wee! He then started to show a little interest when we where going to the toilet.
This tip is a big one for me because there is no point to try potty training if the child isn't ready

Patience Is A Virtue
Some children learn to use the potty is three days, Oisìn took a little longer than that! In totally it's been around two weeks for him to master the toilet. He much prefers to use the toddler toilet seat than the potty and thankfully took to doing poo in the toilet not a problem. Don't get me wrong he still has accidents when he forgets he needs a wee when playing with friends or toys. Just be patience and don't rush....patience is definitely the key

Naked Time
Sun out bum out!! Setting time for Oisìn to be in his buff really did help him learn to use the potty. At the start of the Summer we started setting aside naked time for Oisìn before bath and bed time, we slowly introduced the potty and weeing in the big toilet.

Praise You Baby
It's all about the praise when it comes to Oisìn not just with potty training but he loves to be praised when he tries anything new. High fives, big hugs, well dones, and good jobs and his face lights up!
When he started using the toddler potty seat on the big toilet we piled on the praise so much so he hasn't looked back and has started going into the toilet himself and just asks for help with his pants!

Bribe That Child
Stickers and Jellies is what Oisìn gets if he goes his toilet when we are out and about!
It can be nerve wrecking going out with a toddler when potty training, images of wet clothes and poos on the floor come to mind! In fairness this only happened once in the car on the way out with Oisìn! He has been very good when out while potty training, that is mainly because he knows if he tells us he needs to go the toilet when we are out he either gets a sticker or two jellies!!

Be Prepared
My last tip is be prepared when leaving the house, at least four pairs of pants, and three changes of clothes. My handbag has been switched for a large tote bag filled with stickers, jellies. underpants, wipes, tissues, hand sanitiser, small sanitised bags and a toddler toilet seat!!! Oh the glamour!!

Autumn TV Shows I Can't Wait To Watch!

With Autumn fast approaching I am really looking forward to some new shows
along with some new seasons of my favourite TV Shows
Here are some of the ones myself and hubby are looking forward to this Autumn/Winter

Victoria~ITV Sunday 28th August 9pm
Jenna Coleman of Emmerdale, Doctor Who and Me Before You, fame has finally got her own starring role in this ITV show. in this eight part drama it follows Queen Victoria's early years and her marriage to Prince Albert played by Tom Hughes.
I think this will be a racier version of the movie Young Victoria with Emily Blunt.
It's been labelled as ITV's new Downton Abbey
as it's taken Downton Abbey's Autumn prime time Sunday night slot but it will only have one week alone in that slot as BBC have there own period drama which they hope will fill the gap Downton has left!

Poldark~BBC1 Sunday 4th September 9pm
For those who don't want to watch the life of Queen Victoria
BBC have there own fight for Downton's viewers with series two of Poldark!
I have tough choice of what to watch and what to record! I think for me Poldark wins!
Clondalkin (my hometown) native Aidan Turner is back as Ross Poldark for this ten part second season. It follows on from last season after the loss of Ross and Demelza's child, Poldark's mining company has gone bankrupt and he has been arrested! Fun stuff all round so!

The Great British Bake Off~BBC1 Wednesday 24th August 8pm
The Bake off is back, who doesn't like a bit of the fab four! Mel, Sue, Paul and Mary make the strange foursome that just seem to make this show!
I can wait to met the bakers and see all the lovely cakes, breads and goodies they bake
but also if there is going to be some drama over, soggy bottoms, non risers and melted ice cream!!
Ready Steady Bake!!!

Goodnight Sweetheart~BBC1 Friday 2nd September 9pm
There are other revivals and prequels on the BBC this Autumn due to the celebration of
60 years of the sitcom, but I am looking forward to revisiting Gary Sparrow in Goodnight Sweetheart the most. I have fond memories of watching this at tea time with my parents and brother when I was younger. The last episode aired in 1999 and it is a bit bitter sweet that the special will be airing on what would of been my brother's 30th birthday!
I am looking forward to see what happened to Gary as the last episode saw him stay in the 1940's with his WW11 wife Phoebe as the time portal closed and he never got to see his modern wife Yvonne again!
It looks like all the cast is on board and set to be in this special so I am looking forward to seeing what happened to Gary and co!

50 Ways To Kill Your Mammy~SKY 1 Wednesday 28th September 9pm
This funny Irish man and his Mammy are back for a third season
It looks like this time he is not only trying to kill his own Mammy but also other people's Mammy's!
Not alot known about this series yet but if it's anything like that last two it will be just as funny!
Nancy is a legend who else would sky dive, wrestle crocs, scuba dive, shoot guns, fly a plane, and jet ski plus a whole lot more at the age of 72!!

Westworld~Sky Atlantic October No Set Date
This is one the hubby is really waiting for he is a big fan of the cult 70's movie
so he is really excited for this TV drama version. This Sc-fi Western series tells the story of a futuristic theme park called Westworld. The cast is quite amazing with the likes of Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Thandie Newton, James Marsden, Evan Rachel Wood, and Ben Barnes
I am expecting really good things from this, think Total Recall with out the cheese!!

The Walking Dead~Fox Monday 24th October 9pm
A lot of fans where very annoyed with the season six finale cliffhanger
While I wasn't too upset with it, personally I have seen cracks in the show
since season five.
I felt that there was drop in the script writing and story arcs with endless cliffhangers
which have made the show a bit of a caricature of what once actually made it great.
That said I am hoping with the adding of Jeffery Dean Morgan as Negan to the show
along with different characters and storylines this will added to the dept and quality of the season
Now if they just stop with the cliffhangers fan can stop going ape shit crazy!

Gotham~Monday 19th September 9pm
Not much is known about this next season of  this comic book based show
I really enjoy this show and out of all the comic book shows we watch this is my favourite
It's darker than then others but also quite cheesy which I like!
Last season ended with the crazy dangerous patients of Indian Hill being released on Gotham
so we can expect strange villains such as The Mad Hatter, Poison Ivy, and The Tweed Brothers
There is once again no air date for here in Ireland but we will be watching online!

Arrow~SKY 1 October No Set Date
Legends of Tomorrow~SKY 1 October No Set Date
The Flash~SKY 1 October No Set Date
These three DC Comic book show all air in the states in October but the UK/Ireland
are normally a couple of weeks behind. The only DC show we don't watch is Supergirl we tried a few episodes but weren't fans at all so that was quickly dropped.
Arrow follows on after Laurel's death and the attack on Star City from Dhark after a very weak second half of season four here's hoping the storylines pick up and the flash backs are dropped!
Legends first season was quite hit or miss, some episodes where great fresh and new but most where rehashed, dull and boring. Season two has a whole host of new characters which will bring new storylines and action. Here's hoping the budget was upped for more sets as all the different time zones and countries started to looked the same in season one!
The Flash had a good strong second season with cameos, plot twists and fun villains but with the now time jump and different Earths the writers can go and do what they want with these characters.
We already know that Wally West becomes another version of The Flash and that there are some really exciting villains coming our way! I can't wait!

The Crown~Netflix Friday 4th November
Netflix have big plans for this show already planing another six seasons
and with huge budget! The Crown is a drama based around Queen Elizabeth II England's longest ever reigning monarch. Claire Foy will play Queen Elizabeth and Matt Smith as Prince Philip
The first season will focus on the younger days of the Queen and her wedding to Prince Philip with plans in other seasons to follow her  right up to present day.

Gilmore Girls A Year In The Life~Netflix Friday 25th November
I can't not mention The Gilmore Girls who I grew up with, who I watched every Sunday from it's first episode 2000 until it's last episode in 2007. Sunday afternoon's for me where a cup of tea and Gilmore Girls an hour out of life to see what was happening in Stars Hollow, with mother and daughter Lorelai and Rory. People say Irish women talk fast well I think these women give Irish women a run for there money in the dialogue stakes! I love this show and I have so many memories of crying with Rory about her love life and the huge crush I had on troubled Jess!!
I can't wait to see what has been happening with the Gilmore Girls and the people at Stars Hollow

So that's the shows we are looking forward to how about you?

Over The Weekend #44

This weekend was a nice one
I was shattered from hospital appointments and not getting the answers I wanted from doctors
but I put that one side to have a lovely family weekend
Saturday morning I had a bit of a lie in with breakfast in bed from hubby
then I had to go get bloods done in the hospital
Then we headed to the cinema with Oisìn

We went to see Ice Age Collision Course in the Kids Cinema Club
Oisìn wasn't a big fan of this movie after a about an hour when all the popcorn and sweets where gone he got bored! This added with potty training he had to go to the toilet five times in an hour and half!
I didn't think much of the movie myself and I love kids movies!
We are going to wait and go to see Finding Dory next!
After the cinema we went for lunch and done a bit of shopping
and then went to the In Laws for a cuppa and chat
Sunday was a chill out day!
We walked to the local shops for a few bits
We had planned to go to the park but the weather was cold and wet here in Dublin
So it was back to the house and this yummy Sunday Roast!

Oisìn really enjoyed his Sunday Lunch and had second helpings
This was his third outfit of the day after being so good all week with toilet training
He had three accidents on Sunday! Guess he will have good days and bad days!
After dinner we had cheese cake and coffee and I started Finding Fraser
which I am helping with my Droughtlander I am really missing Outlander on the TV!

After Oisìn was bathed and put to bed I relaxed with a glass of rosè!
So that was our weekend nothing too crazy or busy but we enjoyed it all the same!

Over The Weekend #43

This weekend hubby was working and it was all about potty training at home!
We technically started last week but cause Oisìn is in daycare three days a week
he needs to be fully potty trained or in nappies. It set him back a bit so I have decided to
go full steam ahead and keep in out of daycare this week until he is comfortable to say he needs the potty at daycare!
He has been doing brilliantly and fingers crossed he has got the hang of it this weekend!
He goes straight to the potty himself sometimes just asks for help getting his underpants down quick enough!
I am a bit nervous about bringing him out while potty training
but on Saturday we went to the library and he went to the toilet in the big boy toilet!

This is our local library and Oisìn loves it!!
He had a good chat with the librarian who then invited us to a Teddy Bear Picnic on Wednesday!

He then spent 15 minutes talking to a random car on the walk to the park
because he thought it was Herbie!!
So sweet and funny!

Today seemed to have an Autumn feel to it! The nights are drawing in, this morning it took
a bit later to get bright and we where up from 6.30am! It was also a bit chilly here in Dublin
Oisìn and I went for a walk.....I brought the potty with me!
The park already has signs of Autumn
I find this a bit bitter sweet.....I love Autumn its my favourite season
but I am not ready to let go of Summer yet after all it's only August!
In another news thankfully Oisìn had no potty training accidents all weekend
I am not patting myself on the back just yet but hopefully this time next week
we should be a nappy free zone!

My Mam came up for dinner today and I cooked a roast beef Sunday Lunch
I am now in bed curled up with a cup of hot chocolate and a book!!
